We could not use the bus tour on Sunday 7th until after 1300hrs due to the Berlin Half marathon. We hadn't been pre-warned about this otherwise I would have booked another day. Because of this we felt we didn't have maximum time to use the tour as we were leaving Monday 8th.

Berlin is a large city and walking can be tiresome. The convenience of the hop on hop off makes it easy to see sights withess walking. This particular bus line is lowest cost provider but covers all sights the other ones do. The narrations are either with live guides or taped depending on bus. Some live guides are more informative than others.

Only one way for the price. You can only ride the Blue line then if you want to see more, you have to pay for the yellow,red etc. This tour was not very interesting

To start it was a very hot day and I did feel for the guide on the upper deck sitting in it all day! Having booked this over the internet it was a small mission to identify which company was the one as there are a number running and all stopping at the same locations. Having over come this with a little banter, we initially jumped on the 'red bus' which only had the audio guide but soon changed to the guided tour of the 'green and yellow' bus. Gave us a good 'heads up' as to where sites are and we were able to visit them again the following day. We did feel that the tour we did didn't seem to cover a lot of what we found the following day but this may be due to the tour route we were on. My point being, it would be great if, like in London, they had someone at the stops to explain your options. I did see people selling tickets to this at some of the stops and they may have fulfilled this role but they weren't at each stop that we saw.

I joined the tour 6th of april, the day before the half maraton. I blamed myself for not wearing a thicker jacket that day with plus 4 degrees. But the enthusiastic,briefed,energyfull, educational, fun scottish man Dave showed talents that puts both teachers and actors on the bench. Fantastic all around tour that covered so much in our 5 hour tour. The bikes were great and it was so nice stopping all at once, getting off the bikes and learning about the site, instead of waiting to unload the bus and gather at a distant site. Katie our group leader was a 10+ in knowledge and enthusiasm. What a thrilling learning experience and just an all around fun tour.
